Sunrise The silo

Round walls, morning light.

The sunrise suite sits in the attached silo, which is exactly as strange and as good as it sounds. Waking up in a round room with the light coming around the curve is the thing guests photograph first.

Downstairs the garage doors roll up onto the pasture, so the living room opens straight out at the valley on a decent fall morning.

Morning The animals

The pig has a following.

Greet the animals at the green gate with a slice of bread, one per day. Kids and adults both fall for the sheep and the potbelly pig, and the Chick-INN hens keep the eggs coming through the fall.

Afternoon Off property

Waterfalls, then wine, then home.

Letchworth is a few hundred feet down the hill, Perry Main Street is minutes, and both fit in one afternoon without anybody having to plan it.

  • Letchworth State ParkThe Grand Canyon of the East. Three waterfalls, miles of trail, and in October the gorge walls turn every shade of red there is.
  • Balloons over LetchworthHot air balloons launch from the park on clear mornings. Booking ahead is the only way it works.
  • Main Street, PerryFarmers market on Saturday mornings, and the squash and cider end of the season is the good end. The Main Street Association bills the town as curiously hip and they are not wrong.
  • Mount MorrisAntiquing, a short drive north, for the afternoon when nobody wants another trail.
  • Genesee Valley GreenwayA rail trail that runs the length of the valley. Flat, quiet, and good for bikes as well as boots.

Evening The hammocks

Somebody claims a hammock and stays there.

Hammocks, a boho pile of vintage and salvaged pieces, and two bathrooms that guests describe in more detail than the bedrooms. It reads as a group house rather than a hotel room, which is why it works for a girls trip.

The fire pit is this space alone, with chairs. Cook in the stocked kitchen, or have the charcuterie waiting when you arrive.

I can’t say enough about our stay! The place was incredible, the attention to detail was like nothing I have ever seen. My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. A king size bed with a legitimately comfortable mattress, the bathrooms were incredible, the kitchen was fully stocked, super clean, and the garage doors made it feel like a real indoor/outdoor space. This place was a real gem.

This is one of the most beautiful Airbnbs I have ever been to. It feels like you are at a 5 star resort, except it is a serene and intimate farm setting. Our kids loved all the animals and Amanda was very gracious in showing them around. We spent a lot of time outside and enjoyed the fire pits every evening. We would absolutely return if our schedule ever brings us back to upstate NY.

The practical part.

Is the silo really a bedroom?

Yes. The sunrise suite is built inside the attached silo, round walls and all. It is the room people ask for by name.

How many does it sleep?

Six, across a King and two Queens. Add Highbanks for the whole barn and the building sleeps up to fourteen, which suits five or six couples.

Is it private from the other barn space?

Yes. Its own entrance, its own parking, and its own fire pit. The yard and the back animal barn are the shared parts.

How far is Letchworth State Park?

A few hundred feet down the hill to the Perry entrance. The space itself looks out toward the Highbanks of the park.

What does it cost?

Rates move with the date, the season, the day of the week and your guest count, so the booking page is the only honest answer. Cleaning fees apply.

When can we check in?

Check in is 3pm and check out is 10am, same as every Dell Collective property. Check in and check out are self-serve unless you ask otherwise, and detailed instructions land in your email at 11am on arrival day.
